Decided to make beer can chicken to inaugurate my first day of herb gardening, but found myself without commercial bbq rub. So…decided to make my own. Was originally going to make the Steve Raichlen rub but found myself missing some ingredients/feeling like improvising, so I made some changes.
Around 1/2 cup brown sugar
Around 1/2 cup paprika (I used about 1 parts sweet to 2 parts Spanish smoked
3-4 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
6 tbsp kosher salt
3-4 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp cumin
3-4 tsp celery salt
2 tsp cayenne pepper
Measure ingredients; combine with hands. Store in a jar with a lid on it.
