Lobster Boil

This was a festive Saturday night dinner at home for John and me on date night. Easy, no real recipe – just throw together everything in a big pot with some spices.

1 large 3 pound lobster, or two lobsters about 1.5 pounds each (you can use other sizes, it just will change your cooking times slightly)

4 ears corn, husked and cut in half

1 package kielbasa, cut into pieces

a few red potatoes

2 onions, halved

4 garlic cloves, unpeeled

Old Bay or similar seasoning – a few tbsp

butter, melted

Bring water to boil (season with Old Bay) in a giant stock pot. Throw in lobster and potatoes. Bring water back to boil, then reduce to simmer (potatoes would have been cooking about 5-8 minutes). Add remaining ingredients and simmer another 11 minutes or so. Check potatoes for doneness, drain and serve with more seasoning and melted butter (and beer if you like!).
