This is probably my “signature dish” that everyone expects me to cook. My mom always made it growing up, and I changed it around a bit with the addition of honey, soaking the toothpicks and adding the extra brown sugar at the end.

I like the more chicken broth-based tortilla soups than the thick, cheesy, nacho-y kind.
I’ve seen other versions that are more cabbage and mayo tastic, but this is the way I like them.
This is a recipe which my friend Eve gave me that I then fiddled with a bit. I hate mayo, so traditional potato salad doesn’t really appeal to me.
This recipe, which I first got from my Aunt Barb, is always a hit at parties. I think b/c it’s a southwestern dip that isn’t the typical salsa/beans/cheese concoction.
Risotto is one of my favorite things to make. A) I love the taste B) It’s pretty easy once you figure out the basic recipe. C) It’s also really easy to adapt to your taste.
This recipe is for a lemon mushroom risotto I got out of a vegetarian cookbook and then amended. I’m also including this recipe variations for making butternut squash risotto and shrimp asparagus risotto.
