Beer can chicken

A meat thermometer is helpful here, as this chicken can be tricky on the grill.

*1 can beer

*1 whole chicken

*2 tbsp Barbecue rub (store bought or make your own)

*olive oil

Preheat grill for 15 minutes.

Open can of beer and pop a few extra holes in the top of the can. Pour out half the can of beer and drink.

Coat your chicken in some olive oil. Rub BBQ rub all over, getting some under the skin as well. Add some grill seasoning to the liquid in the beer can.

Position the chicken so the can of beer is literally up the butt of the chicken – the legs act as a little tripod of sorts so it remains standing.

Grill the chicken under indirect heat (keep only one side of the grill lit and place chicken on other side) until it reaches at least 165 degrees in the breast – takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the chicken.

  1. Nice post. I have one question. If I was going to start a website what would be your best piece of advice for me? Your site seems like it does well. Do you have any advice for me?
