Beefy Broccoli Rabe

This is sort of a goofy recipe, but John kept talking about how good the rabe was last night (and this is when it had oven fries and BLTs for competition) so figured I’d post it.

1 bunch broccoli rabe (thanks, CSA!), ends trimmed

red pepper flakes

salt

a couple leaves basil, chopped

splash or two beef broth

cooking spray

Blanch and drain broccoli rabe in boiling water for about a minute. Heat pan – spray with spray. Toss in rabe, salt and red pepper flakes and stir fry until just tender. My pan was burning a little and the rabe was taking awhile, so I threw a splash or two of beef broth in to steam it a little. Remove from heat, drain if needed, and sprinkle basil on top.
