Thanks to my friend Jamie for the idea to make fries out of the kohlrabi I got in my CSA. Pictured with beer can chicken and grilled bok choy, scallions and zucchini tossed with sesame oil and rice vinegar.
2 small heads (is that the term?) kohlrabi, peeled and cut into short, fat sticks
3 red potatoes, cut into similarly sized sticks (alternately, you could just use more kohlrabi)
1-2 tbsp vegetable oil
a bit of cornmeal
garlic powder, salt and paprika, to taste
Preheat oven to 400.
Toss kohlrabi and potatoes with oil, cornmeal and spices.
Cook for 40 minutes, turning fries once.
