Margaritas by the pitcher

This was a recipe born out of necessity. For Amanda’s bridal shower, one of her friends bought a mix of margaritas…which was downed by the guests in about a half hour. So I got to work making homemade ones with the 80 zillion limes that Becky had left over. They actually turned out quite well, even if they aren’t anything too fancy.

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup superfine sugar

2 tbsp lemon zest

2 tbsp lime zest

1 cup tequila (100% agave if you don’t want a hangover)

1 cup triple sec

soda water, to taste (so that it’s diluted but doesn’t taste watery)

Combine non alcoholic ingredients in a pitcher. If you have time, let sit for awhile.

Add alcohol, and soda water to taste. Serve over ice.
