Pesto Meatballs (with Beef)

These were the other meatballs we made for pasta party. The flavor was nice, but I think I might prefer a different meat with pesto, whether it be turkey, bison, chicken, etc.

1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
1 tbsp milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
about 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
salt and pepper
a few pinches garlic powder
1 batch pesto sauce (here’s my basic recipe; my sister threw together a nice one that had a little cilantro and mint in it)

In bowl. combine panko, milk and egg – let sit five minutes. Add beef, basil, cheese, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Combine thoroughly. Shape into balls.

Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes. Serve with pesto sauce.
