This recipe turned out quite well even if it was just a marinade made from an amalgam of Asian ingredients in the fridge.
1 tbsp miso concentrate (instant miso I use for soup)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine
1 tbsp ponzu
1 tbsp ginger
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 piece black cod (about 10 oz)
1 tsp coconut oil
Whisk together all ingredients except fish and coconut oil. Marinade fish, meat side down, for about an hour.
Preheat broiler to high. Melt coconut oil in a pan. Sear fish on one side. Broil for four minutes, and cook another 3-5 minutes at 375 or until temperature reaches 130.
