John’s Clapshot

This was one of John’s recipes for Burns Night: basically a simple turnip and potato mash. Really tasty!

1 pound potatoes
1 pound turnips
salt, to taste
butter, to taste
chopped chives

Peel vegetables, and cut into equal sizes. Boil until fork-tender and drain. Mash with a hand masher. Add salt and a bit of butter. Top with chives.
