Wonton Meatballs

Why yes, I do still make new meatball recipes. I thought these would have a bit more flavor, but my friends liked them well enough, and it’s an interesting recipe.

Scallops and Asparagus with Crispy Prosciutto

Another low carb one from last week. This recipe was inspiration, and used a friend’s proscuitto-crisping trick, too.

Shrimp Balls

Getting down to the last couple of meatballs! These were a riff on a shrimp burger recipe I’ve made before (and I served these as sliders).

Shrimp Toast

These were the surprise hit of my party. I made a pu-pu platter of appetizers including this, rumaki, purchased fried wontons, and kalua pig lettuce wraps (recipe to follow). Everyone was really high on the shrimp toast. It’s a bit of a pain to make but really tasty.

(Note: tried to make the leftover shrimp paste into shrimp “meatballs” but it didn’t really work so I’m not counting it for the project).

Crab Balls

These basically were mini crab cakes, and they were quite good. I just improvised them.

Cold Noodles with Crab

I was really looking forward to making this recipe, but I thought it was a letdown. Too many sweet flavors – the crab, the peas, the noodles (which are cooked in mirin). But I’m hoping the leftovers taste better tomorrow reheated in a salty broth of some sort. We’ll see.

Langostino Salad Sandwich

I loved this dish that I made up on the spot. I bought a little pack of cooked langostino meat from Wegmans as my “treat” and decided to kind of riff on a lobster roll with it. Delicious and easy.
