It’s a great appetizer dish, and even on the healthy side. Made these among other things for New Years Eve dinner.
*1 package ground turkey
*1 package cremini mushrooms, chopped
*iceberg or romaine lettuce, cut into handful-size pieces for wrapping
*five spice powder
*oyster sauce
*soy sauce
*sherry
*one onion, diced
*2 cloves garlic, minced
*1 bunch scallions, chopped
*1 can water chestnuts, chopped
*sesame oil
Brown meat with onion and garlic in sesame oil. Stir in water chestnuts and mushrooms and continue to cook. Deglaze plan with sherry – season meat to taste with soy sauce, oyster sauce and five spice powder. Remove from heat – stir in scallions. Put a spoonful on each piece of lettuce and eat as a little taco-like wrap.
